2023 NYC BBA Distinguished Favorite

Two poets, separated by hemispheres and seasons, found solace and connection in their shared love of poetry. They exchanged poems weekly, writing about their experiences of lockdown, exile, natural disasters, and other challenges. Their poems became a lifeline for each other, helping them to weather the storms of life. They found strength and hope in the words of each other's poems, and they were able to buoy each other up through difficult times. The collection of poems, titled "Some Days The Bird," is a testament to the power of poetry to connect people and to provide comfort and inspiration in times of need.
